Maize Wimbush aka “aMAIZEn” is a resident of Charles County, MD. Maize has been racing since the young age of 7 years old (non competitive) and started competitive racing (USA Cycling) at the age of 9 years old with the ultimate goal of becoming the first black female U.S. Olympic cyclist, competing in the 2024 U.S. Olympics. Maize completed her 2016 cycling season ranked #1 on the East Coast in her age group. Maize is an honor roll student of Charles County Public Schools; where she is in accelerated math, plays the clarinet in the school band. Maize has been featured as “special guest” at Indian Head Naval Base Fitness Center’s MWR annual cycling clinic in Indian Head, MD.

During the cycling off-season; Maize enjoys playing soccer, playing math and engineering computer games, gym workouts, and last but not least spending time with family and friends.
